KSBDC Services for Military Veterans

2011-2012 Operation Veterans: Start-up and Grow

Veterans interested in opening a business or needing assistance with a current business can receive one-on-one confidential business consulting at the Kansas Small Business Development Center. These services are available to veterans, their spouses and family members.  

Opening a business? Here are a few of the areas that KSBDC offers assistance: 

  • How to research your business idea and write a business plan
  • How to find capital and financing for your business
  • How to find opportunities to do business with the government
  • Tips on marketing your small business

  • Importing/Exporting
  • Franchising
  • Succession Planning (buying, selling, transferring)
  • SDVOSB
    We can walk you through the process of obtaining the Service- Disabled Veteran- Owned Small Business designation.
    Learn about the benefits of having the SDVOSB designation.
    Receive assistance in marketing the SDVOSB status.
  • CVE (Center for Veterans Enterprise)
    Assistance in receiving CVE verification. This verification ensures the business meets the guidelines for participating in the VA’s buying authority. The CVE also provides Vendor Information Pages that promote registered veteran-owned businesses to prime contractors and to the federal government.
KSBDC is participating in a multi-state effort to provide opportunities to veterans who are interested in starting a business or who need assistance in maintaining a business.The funding for this program is made possibe by a U.S. Small Business Administration grant for Colorado, Kansas and Arizona. KSBDC in partnership with Karl Monger, owner of DriPowder LLC, a designated Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and the founder of GallantFew Inc., now offer veterans free, confidential business counsulting services. Monger's military background includes commanding an infantry company and serving as a Ranger battalion staff officer where he parachuted into Kuwait at the end of Desert Storm. Following active duty he joined a U.S. Army Reserve unit and ultimately achieved the rank of major, retiring in 2003.

Please call toll free 1-877-625-7232 to find the nearest KSBDC center in your area. You will be given a phone number for the center where you can call to setup an appointment. When you call, please indicate that you are interested in the free, confidential, business consulting services for military veterans.
